Rob Rea Breathwork App
Last updated: June 8th, 2026
Please read this Health Disclaimer carefully before using the Rob Rea breathwork application (the App). You will be asked to acknowledge that you have read and understood it through a positive tap-to-acknowledge step before you can use the App. Your acknowledgement is recorded with a timestamp against your account.
The App provides general wellbeing content focused on breathwork practice. It is provided for educational, informational and self-care purposes only. The App is not, and does not claim to be:
a medical device;
a diagnostic, therapeutic or clinical tool;
a mental health service or psychotherapeutic intervention;
a substitute for advice, diagnosis, treatment or care provided by a qualified healthcare professional.
We do not make any claims that the App will treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any medical condition. Any descriptions of potential benefits relate to subjective experience and general wellbeing only.
Nothing in this Disclaimer limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. The mirror carve-outs in section 15 of the Terms of Service apply in full.
Subject to that, you use the App at your own risk and are responsible for deciding whether any practice in the App is suitable for you. If you have any doubt about your fitness to participate in breathwork, you must consult a qualified healthcare professional before using the App.
Breathwork is a physical and psychological practice that can produce strong effects. These may include light-headedness, tingling, dizziness, changes in heart rate, emotional release, altered perception, or, in some practices, temporary loss of consciousness. These effects are not necessarily harmful, but they are real, and they can be unsafe in certain settings or for certain people.
You should not use the breathwork content in the App, or you should consult a qualified healthcare professional first, if any of the following apply to you.
You are pregnant or believe you may be pregnant.
You are in the postpartum recovery period, particularly the first six weeks after birth, or longer following a caesarean delivery or complicated birth.
Many breathwork practices, particularly those involving breath retention, hyperventilation or intense exhalation, are not recommended during pregnancy or in the early postpartum period.
Heart disease, including coronary artery disease, angina, heart failure, or a history of heart attack.
Uncontrolled high blood pressure (hypertension).
A history of stroke or transient ischaemic attack (TIA).
Cardiac arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation.
A pacemaker, implantable cardioverter defibrillator or other cardiac implant.
Aneurysm of any kind.
Epilepsy or any history of seizures.
A current or recent diagnosis of psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder during a manic or psychotic episode, or any other condition that may be destabilised by altered states of awareness.
Severe post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), unless cleared by your treating clinician.
Active suicidal ideation or recent suicide attempt.
Significant dissociative disorders.
A current or recent eating disorder, or active mania, where intense breathing practice could destabilise recovery (consult your treating clinician).
Severe or poorly controlled asthma.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
A current acute respiratory infection.
Recent pneumothorax (collapsed lung) or any history of spontaneous pneumothorax.
Any surgery within the last three months, particularly abdominal, thoracic, cardiac, eye or brain surgery.
Recent fractures or significant musculoskeletal injuries that may be aggravated by deep breathing.
Any acute illness with fever.
Glaucoma or recent eye surgery.
Untreated severe osteoporosis.
Severe migraines triggered by changes in breathing patterns.
Any other condition for which your doctor has advised you to avoid intense breathing exercises, breath holding or other practices similar to those in the App.
You must not use the App while:
under the influence of alcohol, cannabis, psychedelics or other recreational drugs;
operating a vehicle, machinery or any equipment where impairment could put you or others at risk;
in water (including in a swimming pool, bath or open water) or near edges, heights or other physically hazardous environments.
Breath retention practices have been associated with serious injury and death when combined with water. You must never combine breathwork from the App with breath-hold activities in water.
If you take prescription medication, particularly any medication that affects heart rate, blood pressure, mood, anxiety, seizures or the central nervous system, please speak to your prescribing clinician before starting a breathwork practice.
If at any point during a session you feel:
faint, dizzy or unsteady to a degree that concerns you;
chest pain or unusual heart symptoms;
a severe headache;
overwhelming emotional distress;
numbness or tingling that does not pass quickly when you return to normal breathing;
any other symptom that worries you,
stop the session immediately, return to normal breathing, and seek medical attention if you need it.
Breathwork can sometimes bring up unexpected emotions, memories or sensations. This is part of the practice for many people. However, if you find that the practice destabilises you or worsens existing mental health symptoms, you should stop and speak to a qualified mental health professional.
The App is not designed to support people in acute mental health crises. If you are in crisis, the following resources may help:
United Kingdom: NHS 111 (option 2 for urgent mental health support), Samaritans on 116 123, or your GP. In a medical emergency call 999.
European Union: the European emergency number 112. Many EU countries also have national mental health helplines; please check the resources available in your country of residence.
United States: 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or 911 in a medical emergency.
Other countries: your local emergency number, and any national mental health helpline available where you are.
The App is intended for adults aged 18 and over. Access to the App is exclusively through Subscribing Organisations, and each Subscribing Organisation warrants to us that every Authorised User to whom it allocates a seat is at least 18 years old. The App must not be used by children or young people.
If you have parental responsibility for a young person who you believe has been allocated a seat in breach of the eligibility rules, please contact us and we will deactivate the account.
We endeavour to ensure that the educational content in the App is accurate at the time of publication. Healthcare knowledge evolves, however, and individual circumstances vary. Nothing in the App should be relied upon as the only source of information about your health or wellbeing.
Before you can use the App, you will be asked to confirm by a positive tap-to-acknowledge step that:
you have read and understood this Health Disclaimer;
you have considered whether any of the contraindications in section 3 apply to you;
where any of those contraindications, or any concern about your health, applies to you, you have either consulted a qualified healthcare professional or decided, on your own responsibility, that the practice is safe for you;
you accept full responsibility for your use of the App.
Your acknowledgement is recorded with a timestamp against your account.
Nothing in this section limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
Subject to that carve-out and to the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any adverse health outcomes you may experience as a result of using the App.
Nothing in this Disclaimer is intended to limit any right you may have as a consumer under applicable law, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 in the United Kingdom.
If you have any questions about this Disclaimer please contact support@robrea.co.uk. We cannot provide medical advice. For medical questions, please contact a qualified healthcare professional.
